1. Who We Are

Clorly is a pool service management platform for pool service companies and their technicians. It is available as a web app at app.clorly.com and as iOS and Android apps. This Privacy Policy explains what information Clorly collects, how we use and share it, how long we keep it, and the choices you have. It applies to our website (www.clorly.com), the Clorly web app and the Clorly mobile apps.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information:

  • Account information: your name, email address, profile photo, password (stored only in hashed form by our authentication provider) and language preference.
  • Business information: company name, address, phone number, team members and their roles.
  • Service data you enter: customers and their contact details, pool locations, water chemistry readings, dosing records, service notes, photos, routes, schedules and reports.
  • Location data: when you allow it, the device location of technicians while using the app, used for routing and to confirm service visits.
  • Photos and files: images you take or upload (for example pool or equipment photos) and files you attach to reports.
  • Device and usage data: device model, operating system, app version, push notification token, IP address, crash logs and in-app activity events.
  • Subscription data: your plan and purchase status. Payments made through the App Store or Google Play are processed by Apple or Google; we never receive your full card details.
  • Support communications: messages you send to us by email or through the app.

3. Information We Receive from Google Sign-In and Sign in with Apple

If you choose to sign in with Google, we request only the basic scopes openid, email and profile. From your Google Account we receive your name, email address, profile picture and a unique Google account identifier. We use this information only to create and authenticate your Clorly account, display your name and photo inside the app, and send you service-related emails. We do not request access to your Gmail, Google Drive, Google Calendar, contacts or any other Google data, and we do not post anything to your Google Account. Sign in with Apple works the same way: we receive your name and email address (or an Apple private relay address) and use them only for authentication. You can revoke Clorly's access at any time from your Google Account settings (myaccount.google.com/permissions) or your Apple ID settings.

4. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Create and secure your account and authenticate you when you sign in
  • Provide the service: manage customers, routes, schedules, chemical readings and service reports
  • Generate AI-assisted features such as dosing recommendations, service report text, insights and translations
  • Send push notifications, service reports to your customers when you ask us to, and account and billing emails
  • Manage subscriptions and enforce plan limits
  • Provide customer support and respond to your requests
  • Monitor performance, fix bugs, prevent fraud and abuse, and keep the service secure
  • Comply with legal obligations

5. Google User Data and the Limited Use Requirements

Clorly's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We use Google user data only to provide and improve the user-facing features described in this policy. We do not sell Google user data, we do not use it for advertising or to build advertising profiles, we do not use it to train generalized AI or machine-learning models, and we do not allow humans to read it except with your explicit consent, when necessary for security, to comply with the law, or when the data has been aggregated and anonymized.

6. AI Features

Some Clorly features use artificial intelligence provided by Google (the Gemini API). When you use these features, the relevant data (for example water chemistry readings, pool details, service notes or a photo you submit) is sent to Google to generate a result. We do not send your Google Account data to the AI provider, and under our agreement with Google this data is not used to train Google's models. AI output is a suggestion only; a technician should always confirm dosing before applying chemicals.

7. How We Share Information

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information. We share it only with the service providers that help us run Clorly, under contracts that limit their use of the data to providing services to us, and in the cases listed below:

  • Google Firebase and Google Cloud: authentication, database, file storage, hosting, cloud functions, push notifications, remote configuration and analytics
  • Google Gemini API: AI features described in section 6
  • RevenueCat, Apple App Store and Google Play: in-app subscription management and payments
  • Resend: delivery of transactional emails such as sign-in, invitation and service report emails
  • Cloudflare: website hosting, content delivery and security
  • OpenStreetMap: map tiles displayed in the app (your device requests map images; no account data is sent)
  • Members of your own company account, according to the roles your administrator assigns, and your customers when you choose to send them a service report
  • Law enforcement or other parties when required by law, or to protect the rights, safety and property of Clorly, our users or others
  • A successor entity in the event of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, subject to this policy

8. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on Google Cloud and Firebase servers. Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. Access is restricted by role-based security rules, so users can only see the data of the company they belong to, and only authorized personnel can access production systems. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information using industry-standard safeguards.

9. Data Retention and Deletion

We keep your information for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time in the app (Settings > Profile > Delete Account), by following the instructions at www.clorly.com/account-deletion, or by emailing support@clorly.com. When you request deletion, your account is disabled immediately. After a 30-day grace period, during which you can cancel the request, your personal data and business data, including data received from Google Sign-In, are permanently deleted. We keep only limited records, such as an audit log of the deletion request, where the law requires it for legal, tax or fraud-prevention purposes.

10. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on where you live (including under the GDPR, UK GDPR and California privacy laws), you have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you and receive a copy of it
  • Correct inaccurate or incomplete information
  • Delete your account and personal information
  • Object to or restrict certain processing, and withdraw consent at any time
  • Data portability: export your data in a machine-readable format
  • Turn off location access, camera access and push notifications in your device settings
  • Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority

11. Cookies and Analytics

Our website and web app use cookies and local storage that are necessary to keep you signed in and remember your preferences such as language. We use Firebase Analytics to understand how the apps are used, in aggregate, so we can improve them. We do not use advertising cookies and we do not sell data to advertisers. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, but some features may stop working.

12. Children's Privacy

Clorly is a business tool intended for users aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

13. International Data Transfers

Our service providers may process your information in countries other than your own, including the United States and the European Union. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.

14. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the new version on this page and update the "Last updated" date, and if the changes are significant we will notify you by email or in the app.
